Life in a Golf Ball Home Off Interstate 40 in Arizona
Now although the developers probably never envisioned it as a home, that’s exactly what Hank Schimmel decided it would be best suited for when bought the odd shaped building back in 1981 for his wife’s birthday. Originally designed and built to be a nightclub and restaurant, this golf ball shaped, geodesic sphere right off Interstate 40 in Arizona has since been turned into a 3,400 sq ft, 3-level home. So next time you’re driving down Interstate 40 in Arizona, know that yes, someone is lucky enough to be living in that awesome golf ball home. But please do your best not to yell out “Fore!” as you drive by.
