Candy Corn: A Sweet Inspiration
There are many things in life that give us inspiration. Nature inspires us everyday. Family and friends can inspire us too. However did you ever consider how small things you come across in life, things like candy corn for example, can jolt your creativity? Most people connect these candies with Halloween, but with their telltale yellow, orange and white design they were bound to inspire much more.

Here are a few facts about candy corn: Candy corn was first invented back in the 1880′s. That’s right…this candy has been around for a really long time. Then in 1900, the company that is now the Jelly Belly Candy Company, started producing the candy in massive quantities. To this day, the recipe for candy corn has remained unchanged.
Today over 75% of the candy corn production that takes place every year is done to meet the Halloween candy corn demands. Candy corn has become so popular over the years that there is even a National Candy Corn Day (October 30th). Additionally candy corn is now available in other colors for different holidays; reindeer corn for Christmas, bunny corn for Easter and Cupid corn for Valentine’s Day.
For any of you who are worried about eating too many pieces of candy corn, a cup of candy corn apparently has fewer calories than a cup of raisins. So munch away.
