Astonishing Precision: The Canadian Snowbirds Demonstration Team
When you talk about air shows and aerial acrobats, you’d be seriously remiss if you failed to mention the astonishing precision of the Canadian Snowbirds. A true representation of the professional nature, teamwork, dedication and discipline that has become synonymous with the Canadian Forces, the Snowbirds Demonstration Team is a sight to be seen. The Snowbirds have become a Canadian icon and, due to their technical excellence and experience, are recognized and awed by people from around the world.

The team itself, also known as 431 Squadron, consists of serving members of the Canadian Forces. Since 1971, they have been flying CT-114 Tutor jets.
The Snowbirds’ Tutor jets are unmistakable due to their red and white paint job, signifying the colors of the Canadian flag. Additionally, only minor modifications were made to the jets in order to make them demonstration team-ready: a smoke generating system, the red and white paint job and a closely tuned engine to improve low-level flying.
Put all that together and you get one of the most crackerjack, crisp, aerial demonstration squadrons in the world today. After 36 years, the Canadian Snowbirds are more remarkable than ever. However, words can’t do them justice, so take a look at the Snowbirds in action.
